• Delete backup files older than 7 days

  Using osql command, SSQL backup of a database is created. It is saved to Disk. Then renamed to match the date of the day backup was taken. All these files are saved in a single folder all the time. for example: Batch1.bat does the following 1) Created backup.bak 2) renamed to backup 12-13-2009.bak (this is done by the combination of % ~ - etc to get the date parameter) This is now automated to take backup everyday by Task scheduler in Windows. Can the batch file also be modified to delete backup files older than 7 days? if so, how ? If it is not possible via batch file, other than manually deleting the files are there any other alternatives to automate the deleting job ? Thanks in advance, Balaji S

  Hi I've been working on a project in Netbeans. Now I'd like to submit it and allow the markers to compile it with a script. However, I get the NoClassDefFoundError when I try to run via the command line. One approach is to insert the entity, then get the aId generated by the DB (2nd query) and then update the entity, setting the bId to be equal to aId (3rd query). Is there a way to get the bId to get the same generated value as aId? Note that afterwards, I want to be able to update bId from my gui. If the solution is JPA, even better.

• IIS 7 - floats returning with commas instead of periods

  I'm having trouble reading rows with float values, because these rows return for example 12,34 instead of 12.34 as it should. I suspect this is because both my IIS and SQL server is on a Norwegian Windows Server 2008. So I went to the regional settings and customized the default decimal symbol, then restarted my servers. The output in the database now shows the period decimal symbol, but when I request it through the IIS server it comes comma separated (the IIS server is on another computer, but that also has the default decimal symbol set to period). The IIS server is IIS7 and the SQL Server is 2008 Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi all, My current project for work involves developing a SharePoint 2007 WebPart which will be deployed by our clients. To provide a better user experience, I am "simulating" AJAX via setting the SRC attirbute of an IFRAME to be the address of an HTTP handler. These handlers are deployed to the layouts directory in the 12 hive. Although this works, I would prefer to use the $get() method of jQuery. Will this work reliably in my scenario or will I still be subject to the same origin policy? What about the scenario where the WebPart is being deployed to various places on a SharePoint farm? Will there be any problems with using $get() in that case? Thank you!

The validation will pass only if the number has precisely 2 decimal places, and there is at least 1 digit before the decimal point. (could be zero) the number before the decimal point can be 0, but can not be multiple zeroes. like 00 or 000 The number before the decimal point can not begin with more than 1 zero. It turns out an admin made some config changes on the server and the date is currently being returned as "2010-12-27T10:50:44.000-08:00" which is not parse-able by the above pattern. I have two questions: The first would be what pattern would parse the date being returned by the JVM in the format above (specifically, just '-08:00' as the time zone)? And second, where exactly would one change such settings on a linux RHEL 5 server so that we are aware of such changes in the future?

• Fastest way to compress a database or .bak file and transfer it

  As per the question title. I wonder if there are special programmes or commands that makes zipping up a .bak file and transferring it super quick. I read abour xp_cmdshell here but I'm not sure about the speed. My .bak file is about 12 gigs at the moment. Related to this is the possibility of using Red Gate's SQL Data Compare to just transfer the differential data across the network pipeline but I have never used SQL Data Compare before and I'm not sure how it goes about doing INSERTS on tables with Primary Keys and such. Also, not sure about the speed. Does anyone have any experience with this programme or similar programmes? Cheers!

  Hy! In my app, every profile has a gallery and this gallery has images. They can have 1 or 1000 images, so when i show up the gallery i only need a part of the images, let's say 12 images. Then in my ajax gallery when, someone requests more images are loaded. This gallery is SEO, so, the main url is: "/profile-url/" and then, there are these urls too: "/profile-url/images/1" that loads the image with the id=1 in the database. The gallery have to show only 6 images per stack, so When i request the page with the image.id=64, only have to show from 60 to 72, and to select the 64, that is done with js. how may i add a request like this? and how to order them? thanks

• How do you make an image opened in colorbox scrollable

  I would like my images that I open in colorbox to be displayed fullsize with no resizing applied to them and then apply scrollbars to allow for viewing the larger images. Some of my images are quite tall and things get pixelated when resized down. Currently colorbox just resizes my images down to the size of the available height/width. Is there a way to make all images display fullsize with overflow scrollable in colorbox?   Since I was 12, I was always wondering how I can make a function which calculates the power (e.g. 23) myself. In most languages these are included in the standard library, mostly as pow(double x, double y), but how can I write it myself? I was thinking about for loops, but it think my brain got in a loop (when I wanted to do a power with a non-integer exponent, like 54.5 or negatives 2-21) and I went crazy ;) So, how can I write a function which calculates the power of a real number? (To unpack the non-string data I'm using the struct module, but I don't how to do the same with the strings.) • ASP.Net: Finding the cause of OutOfMemoryExpcetions

  I trying to track down the cause of an OutOfMemory for a website. This site has ~12,000 .aspx pages and the last time it crashed I captured a memory dump using adplus. After some investigation I found a lot of heap fragmentation, there are around 100MB of Free blocks which can't be assigned. Digging deeper one of the Large Object Heaps is fragmented and the causes seems to be String interning as described [here][1] Could this be caused by the number of pages in the site? As they are all compiled they sit in memory and by looking at the dump they are interned and PINNED which I think means they stick around for a while. I would find this odd as there are many sites with more pages, but dynamic compilation could account for the growth in memory. What other methods are there for finding the cause of the memory leak?   Anyone have any idea why shuffle() would only return 1 item? when using: $array2 = shuffle($array1); with the following array($array1): Array ( [0] => 1 [1] => 5 [2] => 6 [3] => 7 [4] => 8 [5] => 10 [6] => 11 [7] => 12 [8] => 13 [9] => 14 ) The output of: print_r($array2); is simply: 1 Any idea as to why it would not only not shuffle the array, but knock off the remaining 9 items in the array? thanks!
